This listing is for a complete professional DIY system including every component required to perform a large scale retrofit, or build a larger production CNC robot. I’ll start by explaining that no one online currently offers a package of equal value with as many details as covered with this system. Its the only DIY kit designed for simplicity in that a person can build, and maintain their own CNC controller system without the need of searching for endless support when it comes time to upgrade, or service their system. Nothing in this system is proprietary which means you can decide at any time to change or modify your system with any component you choose. This alone is worth a small fortune with so many vendors offering systems that require you use their parts to tie you to them for the life of unit, or until you get tired of inferior, or costly tech support, and parts. The components of this kit are featured below. 3 Gecko G203v (VAMPIRE) drives Their called vampires cause their virtually indestructible. These units also come complete with a custom machined tool less heatsink mount. You can mount all three drives by drilling two holes virtually anywhere you prefer in your enclosure. Thumbnuts get them out within seconds for servicing, or to get them out of the way till your ready for final mounting. The heatsink is also drilled, and tapped with all hardware to mount your drives including heatsink paste. Review the video here on this design. This power supply provides monster voltage for rapids that are 50% faster than the typical 48v units. If your robotic chassis is large, or you need a faster system to keep up with production this is what your looking for. It also provides all the amps required for your gecko drivers in one single unit. The UC-100 converts the breakout board to USB control format allowing any Windows operating system to be used with any computer with a USB port for system control. This includes using a laptop to control your system. The breakout board system is complete with its own required 5v 2a power supply, and wiring diagram graphic using pro-grade vinyl , and 3M glossy overlaminate to protect the graphic from fading, and chemicals. Servicing your own system has never been easier as I’m also including a tool less mounting system to allow you to remove or mount the unit as fast as you can undo four thumb nuts. These motors provide a massive amount of holding torque for those larger type knee mill Bridgeport retrofits, and larger systems. Stepper motors lose torque the faster they go, meaning these motors will allow for much higher rapids while still providing a very high amount of holding torque providing the best overall performance in a Nema 34 chassis. I recommend at least a 20% differential in holding torque to allow for maximum rapid travel when required. Pro-Grade CNC Electronics Enclosure Pre-Milled (EMI Shielded) 19W x 24Lx 8.75H This is the only chassis on the market dipped in an EMI shielded coating. Its also the only chassis on the market available that can be totally assembled with thumb screws if you prefer over regular ones. The unit comes pre-machined to support 4 axis. If you require expansion after you build your system you can mill it yourself as the unit breaks down into flat panels allowing you to literally control the amount of expansion to do for your particular application. No more BS with welded steel enclosures that don’t break down. Steel units are heavy, and typically require two people to manipulate safely. This unit is aluminum, and light (About 35% lighter than steel) yet is made using 3mm for the front plate, and 2mm on the rest of the unit which means servicing the unit with one person is actually very easy. The unit is completed with a set of pro grade graphics laminated in 3M 8518 that you can apply as this allows the end user to label the chassis to their particular preference. Bobcad v28 CAD/CAM With All Add On Modules &Training Professor Videos and Mach3 motion control software These pieces of software complete your motion controller build. Mach3 is the standard in motion control performance, and offers the most support for what you’ll be using. It also features all the setup bells , and whistles required to get the most performance from your new system. Mach3 combined with the UC-100 will allow for it to be used on any Windows operating system. The days of being stuck using Windows XP, or Vista 32bit operating systems are over. It will now easily work with 64bit operating systems. Bobcad v28 allows the most bang for your buck with true engineering CAD/CAM software you own. This isn’t a trial copy, or some limited version. It includes all the add on modules as well. Bobart which is picture to vectorization software. This allows for your digital pictures to be converted into machine able components. Reverse engineering is very possible with a simple image of a 2D component once scaling is done. It also features Bobnest which allows for you to optimize your machining substrates by letting the software group components to be cut allowing for optimized spacing between them. This allows for maximum productivity on each piece of material you use. These two add on modules alone are worth more than most other companies whole programs. Research them carefully as I have already, and know they like to charge you for the additional modules to allow for optimal profitable machining. The package wouldn’t be complete without training, and that’s why this package includes Bobcad’s training professor videos for hours of college course type instruction. You can now learn on your own time. I personally recommend two monitors on your system. This CAD/CAM software is simply the best value offered with the features it offers.
